Our Economic Development services begin wherever the community finds itself. Each plan begins with a community assessment, intensive research, and fact-finding, using a full slate of tools and information resources to really get to know your area. We then partner with you to develop an actionable vision, goals, and success metrics, complemented with strategies and actions to get you where you want to go. Each plan concludes with an agile action plan that documents the tasks to be accomplished within the needed timeframe to reach the vision and goals.

Our inclusive stakeholder engagement strategies enable us to include the whole community in every project we are involved with and immersion visits let us thoroughly explore your area, talk with, at a minimum, officials, residents, businesses, community organizations and young people. During Listen to Learn Interviews with community leaders, they are assured of nothing being attributed to them directly so they can be candid. Other community engagement tools are implemented as applicable.

Every community has a unique heritage that began with the people who settled and the landscape they found. Since there are no two exact combinations of heritage and landscape anywhere in the United States, that is likely what makes a destination a destination. We help develop your assets and resources to maximize the economic development they deliver through promotion of unique heritage that generates new tax revenues which can be used to increase quality of life.

If a community looks like no one cares, no one else will either. No large or small new business will move in, and no new residents will consider relocating to a community that is unattractive, unkempt and/or unpleasant. The first time they show such a community to their friends, they get a thumbs down. Using our extensive experience with placemaking, historic preservation, architecture, and adaptive reuse, we make actionable recommendations for townscaping improvements and placemaking to increase the success of recruiting new people, businesses, and new vitality.
